Our customer faced a challenge in transferring calculations from one application to another across nearly 20 furnaces. With thousands of tags and unique formulas for each furnace, the manual calculation of critical features was a daunting and time-consuming task. Performing these calculations manually was estimated to take several months

Solution

Our teams innovative solution involved several key components:

• Automated Data Processing: BKO AI created a solution that seamlessly integrated with an excel mapping sheet containing thousands of tags used for calculations. This integration enabled automated data extraction, eliminating the need for manual data input.
• Formula Based Automation: Different calculation formulas, tailored to each furnace were built . BKO AI developed code which  identified the specific functions required for calculations based on the Excel mapping sheet.
• Asset Tree and Permissions Management: Created an organized asset tree for the results, along with permissions management for each tag, ensuring data security and accessibility.

Result

• Time Savings: What would have taken several months of manual labor was accomplished in one month. The automation capabilities significantly accelerated the project timeline. 
• Adaptability to Data Changes: When our customer modified data source names or added prefixes to over 2000 tags, updating the calculations was seamless, eliminating the need for labor-intensive recalculations of the manual calculation method.
