Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

BKO AI (“BKO,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides industrial AI software and related services to business customers. We respect your privacy and are committed to handling personal information responsibly. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect through our website and services, how we use and share it, how long we keep it, and the rights and choices you have.

We collect personal information in three main ways: (1) information you provide when you fill out a form or contact us; (2) information collected automatically when you use our website, including through Google Analytics; and (3) data we process on behalf of our business customers when they use our products. Each is explained below.

2. Who and what this policy covers

This policy applies to personal information we handle when you visit www.bkoai.com, use our contact form, communicate with us, or evaluate or use our products (including during a proof of concept or trial). It does not cover third-party websites or services we link to, which have their own privacy policies.

When our business customers use our products, the data involved often belongs to those customers and their end users. For that data we generally act as a service provider / data processor, not as the party that decides how it is used (see Section 6).

3. Information we collect

3.1  Information you provide to us

When you reach out through our website’s contact form or by email, we collect the information you choose to provide:

  • Contact inquiries — your name, email address, phone number, the message you send, and the topic or industry you select.
  • Business relationship records — if you become a customer or vendor, the contact, contract, and billing information needed to work together.

Contact-form submissions are received and stored through our website platform, Webflow. Please share only the information we ask for, and avoid including sensitive personal information in free-text message fields.

3.2  Information collected automatically

When you visit our website, we and our providers collect certain information automatically:

  • Analytics data via Google Analytics. Our site uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors use it. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to collect information such as your IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, referring pages, and interactions with the site. This information is shared with Google, which processes it under its own policies. See policies.google.com/privacy and Google’s opt-out at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
  • Server and hosting logs. Like most websites, our hosting infrastructure automatically generates standard technical logs (for example, IP address, request time, and pages requested) to serve and secure the site.

3.3  What we do not do

  • We do not sell your personal information for money.
  • We do not use your information to build advertising profiles about you, and we do not run third-party advertising networks on our site.
  • We do not knowingly collect personal information from children (see Section 12).
Note: because we use Google Analytics, some privacy laws (such as California’s) may treat certain analytics activity as “sharing” of personal information. Section 11 explains the choices available to you, including how to opt out of analytics.

4. How we use personal information

We use the personal information described above to:

  • respond to your inquiries and communicate with you;
  • provide, support, secure, and improve our website, products, and services;
  • understand and improve how our website is used (analytics);
  • manage our business relationships, contracts, and billing; and
  • comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies, primarily for Google Analytics as described above, and any cookies strictly necessary for the site to function. Analytics cookies help us measure and improve site performance; they are not used for advertising by us.

You can control cookies through your browser settings and can opt out of Google Analytics using Google’s opt-out browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

6. Data processed through our products (business customers)

When a customer uses our products — including during a proof of concept, evaluation, or trial — data belonging to that customer and its end users may pass through or be processed by our software. For this data, the customer is the controller (or business) and BKO acts as a processor (or service provider). We process such data only on the customer’s documented instructions and to provide the product or service — not for our own independent purposes and not for advertising.

The specific data and governing terms are set out in the agreement between BKO and the customer (and, where applicable, a Data Processing Agreement). Where our processing is subject to the GDPR, we will enter into a written data processing agreement meeting Article 28 requirements on request. If you are an end user of a product operated by one of our customers, please direct data questions to that organization (the controller) in the first instance; we will support them in responding.

7. Legal bases for processing (EEA / UK)

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on the following legal bases under the GDPR / UK GDPR when we act as a controller:

  • Consent — for analytics cookies (where required) and optional communications; you may withdraw consent at any time;
  • Legitimate interests — to operate and secure our website and to respond to and manage inquiries, balanced against your rights;
  • Performance of a contract — to manage a customer or vendor relationship; and
  • Legal obligation — where processing is required to comply with the law.

8. How we share information

We do not sell personal information for money. We share it only in these limited circumstances:

  • Service providers / sub-processors — vendors that help us operate, including Webflow (website hosting and contact-form submissions), Google (analytics), and our email and cloud provider. They may process data only to provide services to us and under confidentiality and security obligations.
  • Legal and safety — where required by law, regulation, or legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of BKO, our customers, or others.
  • Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this policy.
  • With your direction — when you or a customer instruct us to share it.

9. International data transfers

BKO is based in the United States, and our service providers may process data in the United States or other countries. Where personal data of individuals in the EEA or UK is transferred internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses (and the UK Addendum), where required.

10. Data retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected: form submissions and correspondence for as long as needed to handle your request and any resulting relationship; business-relationship and contract records for the duration of the engagement and a reasonable period afterward to meet legal, tax, and record-keeping obligations; and analytics and server-log data for a limited period. We periodically review and delete old or unnecessary form submissions. Data we process on behalf of a customer is retained and deleted according to that customer’s agreement and instructions.

11. Your privacy rights and choices

11.1  California residents (CCPA / CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use and disclose it; to access and obtain a copy of it; to request correction or deletion; to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information; and to be free from discrimination for exercising your rights. We do not sell personal information for money. However, our use of Google Analytics may be considered “sharing” for cross-context analytics under California law. You can opt out by using Google’s opt-out browser add-on, or by using a browser that sends a recognized opt-out preference signal (such as Global Privacy Control), which we honor where required.

11.2  EEA and UK residents (GDPR / UK GDPR)

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to access your personal data; to have it corrected or erased; to restrict or object to processing; to data portability; and, where we rely on consent, to withdraw consent at any time. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

11.3  How to exercise your rights

To make a request, contact us at privacy@bkoai.com. We will verify your request as required and respond within the timeframes set by applicable law. You may use an authorized agent where the law allows. If a request concerns data we process on behalf of a customer, we will refer you to, or coordinate with, that customer as the controller.

12. Children’s privacy

Our website and services are intended for businesses and are not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

13. How we protect information

BKO maintains an information security program with administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the data we handle, including enforced multi-factor authentication, least-privilege access controls, device encryption, secure disposal of media, staff security training, and a named Security Officer who oversees and regularly reviews the program. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update this page and, where required by law, take additional steps to notify you. Please review this page periodically.
